#SFB480 Interview with Colm Kelly

#SFB480 Interview with Colm Kelly

The Scott Fish Bowl commences on July 11th. We asked Zach Law to interview some of the participants about the experience. Today’s subject: Colm Kelly – Overtime Ireland podcast co-host.

1. Can you give me a two-sentence introduction to your fantasy football “personna”? Include your Twitter handle.

Most people will know me from my podcast twitter handle @OvertimeIreland. I do weekly NFL Fantasy related pods with my co-host Doug Moore and guests. My real name is Colm Kelly (@thecolmkelly).

2. Who in your division do you want to take down the most?

I tweeted this last week, our division (Jack Nicholson) might be the toughest in the entire SFB. It is is stacked with guys like Leo Paciga, Bob Harris, Jeremy Hardt, Dave Richard and more. I’m not going to single any of them out. I’d like to beat them all.

3. Do you have a strategy already set up for the draft or do you let the board fall to you?

Like all leagues, know the scoring system. With the SFB settings it isn’t really like many other leagues. I generally have 2-3 players I like at a pick per round. There will always be a few surprises per round so I generally don’t have anything set in stone and I go best available.

4. If you got to pick your draft slot, what would you take and why?

I like the four to eight range, it allows you to see the draft develop a little more. All spots have their advantages and disadvantages though.

5. If you could select four people in the Scott Fish Bowl (#SFB480) to have either a beer or dinner with, who would it be?

It probably sounds odd but I’d probably pick guys that I’ve had on the OTI podcast as guests because I’ve talked to them already and think the football conversations would be fascinating with a couple of beers. Matt Harmon, Matt Williamson and Sigmund Bloom. You did say four so I’ll have to make it an OTI Pod dinner with my co-host Doug Moore.

6. What’s one non-fantasy football related interest you have that would surprise the rest of the SFB?

Some might already know, but I play tight end in the (Full Contact) Irish American Football League with the Donegal/Derry Vipers. It puts my respect for what the guys in the NFL do to an entirely new level.

Thanks to Colm for answering and Zach for hosting. You can find Zach on Twitter @zach_law and make sure you visit his website — Zachlawonline.com. You can catch him on Going for Two every week, talking football, beer, and just about anything else with co-host Sharona Stormborn.
