#SFB480 Interview with @WazNFL
The Scott Fish Bowl commences on July 11th. We asked Zach Law to interview some of the participants about the experience. Today’s subject: @WazNFL – Creator of the #FFCC200 Leagues
1. Can you give me a two-sentence introduction to your fantasy football “personna”? Include your Twitter handle.
@WazNFL – I’ve been a fantasy football addict for over 17 years and feel that I’ve gained the experience and confidence to comfortably participate in any league format. While I prefer two-QB and Superflex variants over others, I’m always up for a challenging format like the #SFB480.
2. Who in your division do you want to take down the most?
In the Samuel L. Jackson division, I think it would be wrong to not pick Adam Tzikas (@AdamTz) here. Adam and I have been crossing paths quite often these last few years. Like our conference, he really is a bad ass and he knows his stuff well. While I would enjoy watching him succeed in the #SFB480, I would enjoy taking him out even more.
3. Do you have a strategy already set up for the draft or do you let the board fall to you?
I feel that if your strategy isn’t to let the board fall to you, you’re bound to run into some trouble. There are going to be eleven others trying to be as clever as you in your draft and it’s unlikely that a specific draft strategy will work out as perfect as it seems in your head. I plan to play the board, take the best player available in my opinion based on the #SFB480 scoring, and construct a team that balances consistency with upside.
4. If you got to pick your draft slot, what would you take and why?
I was lucky enough to get the draft slot that I would have picked if I had the choice – the sixth. I feel that in the #SFB480, not having to wait long between picks is the best way to manage stressful situations such as deciding if you should reach on a player or getting sniped on your targeted player. I also feel that drafting somewhere in the middle gives you the best platform to follow through with a plan in the event you were silly enough to make one.
5. If you could select four people in the Scott Fish Bowl (#SFB480) to have either a beer or dinner with, who would it be?
I would like to mention Nathan Powell (@NPowellFF) here, but he’d be too busy doing a podcast or patting himself on the back. That and I’m not even sure if he’s old enough to drink. In all seriousness, I think kicking it with Dynasty Playbook dudes Tyler (@HBombIDP) and Drew (@DrewDodsonNFL) and/or The Bull Rush guys Ty (@TyInStL), Frank (@DynastyFrank), and Scott (@ScottFish24) would be a really regretful time. I know that’s five people, but with Scott and his ridiculous schedule, I’m not sure there’s ever a good time for him to pencil me in.
6. What’s one non-fantasy football related interest you have that would surprise the rest of the SFB?
One of my most interesting non-fantasy football facts is that I spent over ten years in the US Air Force working on and with AGM-86 air-launched cruise missiles. It still hasn’t made me a better Fantasy Football player though.
